Right from the first to the end,I've thoroughly enjoyed the book. The main protagonist didn't announced till halfway through the book, that came as a bit surprise, but the void was completely filled by Arjun and his transformation from good to bad is portrayed brilliantly.

The reason why Parasu Ram chose the way he'd chosen was put along in a conceivable manner. The interactions of Parasu Ram with Vashist and Viswamitra was written well. The emotional turmoils of Satyavati,Jamagadni,Ruchik were captured well and the philosophical theme is maintained throughout the length.

As usual, the fusion of Science,Myth and Philosophy which is authentication of the author was well maintained in this work as well. For those who've read viswamitra, this might look like a sequel to information technology. All in all can complete this in a unmarried sitting and you'll thoroughly savor the book.Congrats to the author for portraying The Legendary Parasu Ram in a legendary style..hail the Avatar of vishnu and Disciple of Siva-Parasu Ram!!!

Skilful one by Dr. Vineet Aggarwal though I would have liked if the author elaborated a bit more on the transformation of Raam to Parshu-Raam.

Parshuram : The apotheosis of Lord Vishnu himself , the disciple of Lord Shiva , wielder of both the axe of Shiva and Vishnu's bow , one of the seven immortals , the man who clansed the globe from the arrogant Kshatriyas for twenty ane times , the teacher of legendary warriors similar Bheeshma , Karna , Dronacharya and Kripacharya , the only Bharamakhsatriya known in the history of mankind .

Even later having such a larger than fourth dimension personality there is no epic is available which chronicles the entire life of Parshuram (every bit the Ramayana for Ram and the Mahabharat for Krishna ) . We only hear the stories of this homo from the Mahabharata and the Ramayana and from many folk tales likewise .

When I came to know about this book I picked it with great expectations and enthusiasm that finally someone tried to chronicle the life of this legend . But the book tin can't lived up to the expactations . The book is more about the situations which led a Bhramin male child Ram to become the Bharamakhsatriya Parshuram . Rather than 'the legend of Parshuram' it's 'Parshuram : Origins' . The first 3 parts of the book covers simply the story of Kartavirya Arjun and his exploits . The author tried to make Kartavirya Arjun as the 2d protagonist of the book but the character lacked the depth . The story of transformation of Arjun from protagonist to adversary was unacceptable . Information technology was a bad and impractical idea . Ravan's character is used equally Shakuni of the novel . Some events were very like to the Shiva trilogy .

The author has washed a proficient task in describing the political and social weather of India at that time but in the midst of swell political canvas , which covers more than than half of the book , master story which I was expecting was lost somewhere . The narration was simple and skilful . If this book was first book of any serial the book would exist a neat starting time to the series .

It was non what expacted .
2.5 Stars .

Ram aka Raam was a descendant of Brahma, considered equally the 6th avatar of Vishnu and worshiper of Shiva! He is known better every bit ParshuRaam (aka Parshuram), the i who holds the divine Parshu (a dagger) which is blessed to him by Lord Shiva. At that place is a lot written about him, but at that place is a lot unknown about him also. You tin can observe traces of his tale even in Ramayana and Mahabharata as well, and yet, it is tough to find a consolidated account of Parshuram'due south life.

Dr. Vineet Aggrawal, a famous author who started his career as an writer by writing a volume about Vishwamitra, came with a detailed book on Parshuram.

The plot of this volume has its root in the book almost Vishwamitra, however, don't worry if you lot haven't read it notwithstanding. The book is complete in itself and you tin enjoy reading it without missing any of import detail.

The Plot:
Allow the states take a bird's centre view to the plot of the volume where I will try to proceed most of the spoilers at the bay, but some of them are unavoidable :).

It all stars with the deportment of Ruchik, the descendant of Bhrigu who feel disheartened past the deportment of his wife Satyavati and her mother, every bit decided to leave the domestic life. He leaves everything in a moment, including his newborn, and went to the Himalayas to complete his spiritual journeying.

The Karma is a great leveler and i has to fulfill all his/her duties, and thus, the circumstances took the turn and Ruchik has to come back into the lives of his married woman Satyavati and son Yamadagni (aka Jamadagni)!

Arjun is one of the bully rulers of Nabhivarsh and he followed the path of Dharma. With the able guidance of his begetter and immense warrior skills of his own, he went alee to take some of the most remarkable political alliances and fought some great wars, all to establish the kingdom of Dharma all over the globe. He was near successful in his efforts.

Almost, because, there are tribes, which want to keep following their ain fashion of ruling and don't care much well-nigh the ideal practices advised by the Dharma. And some of the near cunning minds and brave fighters were there at their side also. Adding to them was Ravana, the ascent figure in Asura tribe who is of mixed origin and possessor of the good qualities of both the clans.

Why, Arjun, the ferocious warrior, better known as Sahatrarjun, and then is considered every bit the ane who did some incorrect stuffs? Why he is killed by Raam (who became Parshuram past then)? And why Raam started a serial of wiping out the Kshatryia rulers who were not following the path of Dharma? The sequence of actions and their reactions, are ameliorate to explore by reading this book.

Views and Reviews:
The volume is written in a gripping style and is a delight for the lovers of Indian Mythogoly. More importantly it explore the characters which are comparatively less explored, only played a very important role in making India (that is India) what it is today.

Of course, in that location are some gaps when you try to trace the incidents mentioned in various scriptures, which the writer may demand to go through to collect material for this book, and he had to instill the imaginary stuff there.

While I think that the character of the protagonist could accept been given more footage, especially, his days of teen, whatever explored is good in terms of content and representation both. Despite it being the story of Raam, the incident which were responsible to make him Parshuram are explored quite nicely.

Before many years, when reading reviews for a pic, I found a squeamish line written by a reviewer which was telling something like, without properly exploring the adversary, you cannot explore the abilities of the protagonist. Very truthful. The stronger the antagonist is, the protagonist will automatically become stronger than him/her. Often we start mark various characters every bit blackness and white, while in that location is aught can exist attributes then in accented manner. Practically, virtually everyone has the shades of grays, and it is the responsibleness of the storyteller to explore them in that way.

What I like in this book is the way the graphic symbol of Arjun is explored. Of class, the mode characters of Ravana, Ruchik, Satyavati, Yamadagni, Renuka, Ram and others are explored are pretty effective and overnice, Arjun's grapheme is given proper footage. I'd not seen it is explored so much in other scriptures I came across then far. And I confirm that if it is not explored so nicely, his actions and others' reactions towards the same might non be that convincing. With that let me tell you that each of the character is given its due importance.

The book is good at philosophical and spiritual level besides. The expertise of the author in building scenes and explaining environment and exploring battle is admirable. He is a worthy competitor to the bestselling authors in this genre in many aspects.

Here are some of the interesting lines from the book:

In every country or society, there exists a few who are unhappy with the way things are…
----
No affair how far i travelled, one had to come back home at the end of the journeying.
-----
Well, what is history but the variation of facts by the victorious and the cocky-sympathizing delusions of the defeated?

The cover page is good but could have been a little meliorate.

Summary:
Overall, a fantastically retold mythological tale with logical approach. The volume has skilful literary attributes and strong characters.

Many Indian authors accept written well-nigh mythology but they limited themselves to the popular stories of Ramayan and Mahabharat. Vineet has dived deep into the mythology with both his books almost popular but lesser known characters. (Vishwamitra and at present Parshuram)
The book is divided into 3 parts. Commencement part is near Parshuram's family, second is about the antagonist (?), Kartavirya Arjun and third is virtually the man of the hour, Parshuram. But throughout the volume, the evil is rising in the background.
What I loved about the volume is that it is filled with mythological data and the scientific explanations of 'what could have been'. Another affair was that whenever I heard the story of Parshuram, Kartavirya Arjun was already a villain, no explanation, but a messy king drunk with power but this book explains what went wrong and how it happened.
A very piece of cake still gripping read. Congratulations to Dr. Vineet Aggarwal and Best of luck for the future endeavors!

I think the all-time part about the volume was that yous actually want to know what's going to happen next, but yous can't increment your pace or skim through some lines, because the research is not just shown in the overall storyline, simply also in small, day to day things in between, like, for example, the feast. I had the opportunity to talk to the author nigh it, and found that every little affair mentioned in the book is based on research.
The genre isn't the same equally Dan Brown's, but the research is certainly as top form every bit his. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the characters, because this isn't based on whatever of the cliche characters of Hindu mythology, and this book surely added to my knowledge. But even for those who would probably non savor the characters or the story, the research will impress you.
And so couple the story of a unique, and legendary grapheme of Hindu mythology paced accordingly, to say the least, with excellent research and the book is an easy five-star.

The Legend Of Parshu-Ram is an intelligent, in-depth clarification of the facts and the life of Lord Parshu-Ram, which I was not enlightened of. I wish the budding and daring Author who picked up such a side character for his second book a resounding success in his further ventures.
